Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within our community hospital to recruit an exceptional Occupational Therapist to join the inpatient unit. The Inpatient unit at Teddington Memorial Hospital sits at the heart of community health delivery in Richmond. Our 28 bedded unit supports the rehabilitation and care of local residents who need step up, step down and sub-acute care and works integrally with our community teams and local social services.

Main duties of the job

The team comprises of nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation assistants. We also have daily input from GP's and access to the wider MDT on a case by case basis

About us

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to manage a complex caseload of patients and provide leadership for the occupational therapy element of the team. Alongside these duties, as part of the senior team, you will be expected to support the junior members of the multidisciplinary team and support the clinical services manager in day to day management and service development.

Essential

  • 1.Significant level of appropriate experience of working within a specialist field. .
  • 2.Significant experience of carrying out specialist assessments and intervention.
  • 3.Experience of working across health and social care boundaries and within multi agency/disciplinary teams. .
  • 4.Evidence of participation in service or pathway review resulting in implemented changes.
  • 5.Experience of carrying out audits, analysing results and implementing changes based on outcomes.
  • 6. Experience of managing and supervising clinical staff

Desirable

  • 1.Experience in teaching individuals and group of healthcare professionals
  • 2.Experience of developing and implementing clinical protocols.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 1.Degree and Professional Occupational Therapy qualification
  • 2.Registered with HPC
  • 3.Registered with BAOT/COT
  • 4.MSc or postgraduate study in specialised area

Desirable

  • 1.Recognised Teaching qualification

  • 2.Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
