New investment and developments in The Wheelchair hub, has meant that there is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Rehabilitation Engineer or Clinical Scientist to provide clinical services and lead a team of mobility technicians. You will be well supported within this high performing, person-centred team.

Main duties of the job

The Wheelchair Hub is a small, caring and effective team of clinicians, technicians and administrators. We are well embedded in the community and work closely with colleagues in the wider multidisciplinary network.

You will use your specialised knowledge and skills in rehabilitation engineering, providingwheelchair and posture management equipment interventions with service users independently and jointly the clinical team.

You will lead the repair and maintenance service of 3 mobility technicians, with scope introduce apprenticeship and trainee placements.

You will support the service manager in delivering quality assurance and improvements within the service.

You will be required to travel, therefore a valid driving license and access to a vehicle would be desirable.

About us

Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust (HRCH) provide a wide range of healthcare services for the population of London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the London Borough of Hounslow.

The Clinical Services Directorates have a wide range of responsibilities to manage, including coordinating and delivering community primary care services on behalf of the Trust. A wide range of these healthcare services are delivered by staff in the community, who include medical staff, paediatric therapists, therapy assistants, health visitors, specialist nurses, nurses, nursery nurses, paediatric phlebotomists and healthcare support workers with the support of administrative staff working in localities with GPs, other health professionals, early years, education, and social care professionals.

The digitalisation of health services is underway with a requirement to become paper-light by 2023 through improving the use of digital tools and adopting mobile and agile working practices and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical delivery.
