Job summary

We are the site for you! We are a dynamic, friendly, IQIPS accredited team looking for a proactive Band 5 Paediatric Audiologist to join us.

You will play an integral role in ensuring high quality service delivery and improvements whilst delivering a cost effective and efficient service.

Developing the delivery of Paediatric Audiology Service to the paediatric population of Hounslow and Richmond localities.

Main duties of the job

  • Act as an autonomous practitioner in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of a diverse caseload
  • Assist the team in the planning, development and delivery of the Paediatric Audiology Service to the paediatric population of Hounslow and Richmond localities.
  • Organise and undertake various audits relevant to the service.
  • Perform diagnostic audiological procedures and provide a comprehensive, suitable, individual management plan for children.
  • Support the service to maintain IQIPS accreditation.
  • Provide managerial responsibilities ensuring resources are available to maintain the smooth running of the clinic.

Qualification

Essential

  • BSc/MSc/PTP in Audiology or parts I and II of BAAT Certificate for higher training.
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Registration with the RCCP or HCPC

Desirable

  • British sign language qualification
  • Deaf awareness qualification
  • Advanced paediatric hearing aid fitting training
  • Current membership of BSA/BAA
  • Newborn Hearing Screening Programme training

Experience

Essential

  • Around 6 months working in NHS Audiology department
  • Ability to work with children and their parents with other disabilities, e.g. learning difficulties, autism.
  • Experience of behavioural, rehabilitation and electrophysiological assessment

Desirable

  • Experience of aiding children using NHSP/MCHAS protocols
  • Minimum of 1 year paediatric audiology experience
  • Experience of peer reviews

Skills and Abilities

  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to the HRCH values (Care, Respect, Communication )
  • Ability to work as an autonomous professional
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and diverse patient group
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of paediatric audiology and advanced audiological test techniques including national developments
