Job summary

Hounslow Looked After Children's Service are seeking a dynamic and innovative Named Nurse for Looked After Children

You will lead a small team of specialist nurses across Hounslow. You will be required to provide leadership and management to the nursing team, support the development and implementation of service development, standard setting, clinical audit and benchmarking, to deliver needs-led evidence-based care that supports the local and national priorities.

You will be required to undertake all activities necessary to ensure that HRCH meets its responsibilities for looked after children as a provider of health services.

You will be responsible to and accountable within the managerial framework of HRCH in delivering on all service targets and required reporting.

As a professionally accountable practitioner you will take a health lead for Looked After Children on an allocated caseload and portfolio and will be required to act as a resource and educator, giving advice on policies and leading on Looked After Children issues.

You will be required to co-ordinate the Initial (if required) and statutory health assessment and care planning process and provision of a direct clinical service for Looked After Children.

Main duties of the job

Hounslow Looked After Children (LAC) Service are seeking a dynamic and innovative Named Nurse for Looked After Children (LAC).

The post holder will be responsible for strategic oversight and leadership of the Looked After Children (LAC) health service, with management and supervision of the Specialist Nursing across Richmond & Kingston.

The Named Nurse for LAC will support the implementation of service development, standard setting, clinical audit and benchmarking, to deliver needs-led evidence-based care that supports the local and national priorities for children in care.

In your leadership role you will support the organisation to have children looked after issues reflected in policies and service delivery across Richmond & Kingston.

You will be required to undertake all activities necessary to ensure that HRCH meets its responsibilities for children looked after - as a provider of health services.

You will provide expertise and demonstrate sophisticated clinical skills to work directly with vulnerable children and adolescents from a background of trauma and/or neglect, and act as a supervisor and educator to Specialist Nurse colleagues.

The post holder will be expected to facilitate and manage training to foster carers and other health and social care professionals.

You will be responsible to and accountable within the managerial framework of HRCH in delivering on all service targets and required reporting.
