We are looking for a motivated and customer focused
Assistant Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Procurement & Supply Chain
team within the Single Corporate Services partnership across Isle of Wight NHS
Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. This role will be based at
Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys
working in a fast paced environment and is committed to delivering high quality
service to clinical teams. You will play a vital role in ensuring that
essential goods and supplies reach the right place at the right time to support
patient care.
This is a hands on role that combines accuracy with physical
activity. You will be responsible for receiving, checking and processing
deliveries, which includes regular manual handling, lifting, carrying and
moving goods.
The role is an excellent entry point into the world of
Procurement and Supply Chain, offering the chance to build core skills, gain
experience within a large NHS organisation, and progress within a well structured
career pathway.
Main duties of the job
Specific Core Functions:
- Process routine information advising customers and work colleagues using persuasive skill to maximise cost effectiveness within the Supply Chain.
- Understand and follow routine Supply Chain Receipting Procedures to ensure the agreed levels of service are achieved.
- Maintain an acceptable working relationship with hospital departments ensuring quick and effective response to enquiries.
- Undertake any other assignments or duties allocated by the appropriate senior staff member.
- Take responsibility for ensuring goods delivered are correct against original order specification and suppliers delivery documentation.
- Take responsibility to ensure accurate data entry is carried out to meet input deadlines within supplies systems.
- To ensure the goods are made available in a timely manner for distribution on site by the portering services.
- To ensure that all delivery documentation is filed in such a way to allow quick and easy retrieval when required.
- Frequently works alone under guidance from the appropriate senior staff member on routine decisions whilst operating standard procedures.
- Ensure The Receipts and Distribution Point is maintained in a tidy condition to meet current Health & Safety regulations.

NHS South of England Procurement Services (SOEPS) is hosted
by Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. We provide end-to-end procurement
and supply chain services for Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals
University NHS Trust as well as other NHS Clients including Hampshire and Isle
of Wight Integrated Care Board (ICB). The position is currently based in our
procurement office in Portsmouth.
