Job summary

In a complex healthcare environment, recruitment is a fast-paced, specialist service. As a Recruitment Coordinator, you aren't just an administrator; you are the primary point of contact for hiring managers and candidates.

Main duties of the job

You will manage the logistics of the hiring journey. You will be the person who turns a departmental "need" into a live advert, guide managers through the shortlisting process, and ultimately delivers the news a candidate has been waiting for: the offer.

Job responsibilities

  • Manager Liaison: Act as a dedicated advisor for specific staff groups. You will speak with managers to understand their vacancies, provide guidance on recruitment policy, and ensure they follow fair and legal hiring practices.
  • Writing & Publishing: Translate vacancy requirements into compelling adverts on NHS Jobs, and respective websites, ensuring all posts comply with Trust standards and the Equality Act 2010.
  • Shortlisting & Selection: Coordinate the shortlisting process, supporting managers in identifying the best talent and ensuring all interview arrangements are seamless.
  • Offers & Contracts: Take the lead on the final stages of the journey, making verbal offers, negotiating start dates, and producing accurate formal contracts of employment.

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

  • Hands-on Experience: Proven experience in a busy office environment (HR or Recruitment preferred). You must understand the mechanics of recruitment in a large, regulated organization.
  • Technical Literacy: You must be proficient in Microsoft Office. If you have experience of using an Applicant Tracking System, that is a significant advantage. (training will be given)
  • Communication: You need the "tact and persuasion" to keep hiring managers on track while providing a warm, professional welcome to new starters.
