This vacancy is part of the Single Corporate Services Division.

The single corporate service is delivered across both organisation. You may be based at either IWT or PHU and individuals may be required to undertake business travel between sites. For leaders managing staff across multi-site locations, you will need to be visible and provide in person leadership. The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional Associate Chief Nurse Safeguarding (ACNS)

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovative safeguarding professional to join the Corporate Nursing team as part of the single corporate service across Isle of Wight Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals Trust.

This role will provide Trust wide strategic leadership as part of the single corporate service across Isle of Wight Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals Trust, reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer. The successful candidate will be in integral part of the trust wide senior nursing team.

The post holder will ensure the Trust meets its obligations under the Children's Act 2004, Working together to safeguard children 2023, Safeguarding Assurance and Accountability Framework 2022, Care Act 2014, regulatory remits of the CQC and other relevant legislation and guidance in order to ensure the Trust provides safe effective and well led services, in line with the Trust values which safeguard people 'at risk'.

The post holder will build effective and productive relationships with partner organisations and our communities, define a safeguarding strategy that reflects the national and local agendas, and provide professional guidance and support to colleagues regarding best practice.

  • First degree or equivalent
  • MBA / MSc in relevant subject and evidence of recent further professional development

  • Extensive experience in the acute healthcare setting in senior clinical leadership/ clinical service management position.
