Fixed Term Maternity Leave cover (12 months)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Pharmacy Technician with excellent communication skills to join our busy, fully automated Pharmacy department providing a comprehensive, patient focused service to residents and visitors to the Isle of Wight.
We will also consider applications from anyone qualified as a Dispenser (L2 qualification).

Qualified Pharmacy Technicians: Salary scale band 4: £26,530- £29,114
The following are essential: BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or L4 Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice. You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council(GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician in the UK.
You will work on rotation with our Dispensary, Mental Health and Oncology/Aseptic teams. You will be a source of advice and information to patients and ward staff and a support to student technicians and dispensing assistants.
Qualified Dispensers: Salary scale band 3: £24,071-£25,674
The following are essential: L2 certificate in Dispensing and Pharmacy Assistant skills, awarded by a GPhC approved provider. You must have evidence of your L2 certificate to qualify for interview.
You will work with the Dispensary team, dispensing outpatient, inpatient and discharge prescriptions, along with topping up the ward stock if required. You will assist in providing emergency bags and kits. You will serve both patients, relatives and staff at our pharmacy reception and receive calls on the telephone.
Excellent practical problem solving and prioritisation skills, and an ability to deal with all types of people are essential.
As well as a comprehensive in-house induction programme, you will be supported by attending a Trust induction program.
Shifts will be 7.5hrs between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm.
Flexibility with shift patterns may be required to suit the changing needs of the service.
