Job summary
Responsible for leading and managing all Pathology I.T. projects so as to continually develop and improve the services provided in order to meet the needs and requirements of users.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for efficient, secure and reliable day-to-day management, maintenance and operation of digital systems withing pathology, including but not limited to -
- Pathology Laboratory Information System (LIMS); configuring the system to make design changes or adaptations as required, to meet clinical and operational needs of all users of the system.
- Electronic OrderComms - configuring the system to make design changes or adaptations as required, to meet clinical and operational needs of all users of the system.
- Digital Pathology System - configuring the system to make design changes or adaptations as required, to meet clinical and operational needs of all users of the system.
- Blood Tracking System - configuring the system to make design changes or adaptations as required, to meet clinical and operational needs of all users of the system.
- Eden Mortuary System configuring the system to make design changes or adaptations as required, to meet clinical and operational needs of all users of the system.
- Review a replacement Pathology computer system (with capacity for electronic reporting, order communications and links to other systems) and provision of technical advice on system requirements and specifications.
- Manage all aspects of the LIMS across the four disciplines of the Pathology Department and to lead on all Pathology IT projects in liaison with appropriate staff. This requires a detailed background and understanding of the scientific concepts of laboratory medicine.
