MDT Coordinator - Cancer Services

Full time - 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking candidate to join our team of MDT coordinators.

The successful post holder will work closely alongside the clinical & non-clinical teams, helping to identify patients who are required for discussion at the weekly MDT meetings.

The MDT Coordinator is responsible for collating the necessary information for each patient to be presented and discussed on the agenda and tracking and monitoring cancer patient pathways using a wide range of IT systems. Other duties include facilitating and actively participating in Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings and data collection for dataset purposes. The post holder will also be required to assist in the provision of regular updates on performance against Cancer Waiting Times standards and the reporting of breaches. A well-organised and systematic approach is a necessity.

The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues within the speciality.

You will be an experienced administrator with an eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills. You will need proven keyboard skills and an aptitude for using a variety of IT systems.

A degree of flexibility with your working hours is also required.

Knowledge of Cancer Waiting Times standards would be an advantage and PAS/Patient Centre experience within the hospital setting are essential.

The MDT Coordinator role will be based at St. Marys Hospital.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the efficient collection of the Cancer Waiting Times and minimum datasets, and entry of this information onto the database.

Organising and circulating agendas/lists of patients for discussion, and ensuring MDT's run as smoothly as possible to reach their full potential in discussing all cancer patients.

This includes live secretary support to meeting and use of Teams and other IT equipment.

To efficiently record the outcome of each discussion during the MDT and to process all outcomes of the MDT to ensure patients are treated in a timely manner.

To use this information for minimum data set collection and CWT's in relation to national guidelines, and take part in local and national audits as required.

To support the preparation and cover of other MDT's as required as part of a cover plan.
