Job summary
Internal Only - To provide a comprehensive secretarial/administrative service to the Consultants within the Haematology service; enabling them to optimise clinical commitment, and therefore facilitating the Trust in the achievement of its objectives and targets.
It is essential that the post holder should exercise initiative and judgement usingacquired skill and knowledge whilst always maintaining confidentiality.
The successful post holder will act as the liaison point for the team, ensuring accurate and timely communications and ensuring all queries are actioned effectively. This can include liaison with internal and external bodies as well as professional bodies and members of the public.

You will work closely with your consultants and clinicians and you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication, secretarial and organisational skills to undertake this role in a busy department liaising with both colleagues and patients.
Knowledge of the Trusts IT System is desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.
This post is busy and demanding with urgent deadlines to be met and supporting our patients through pathways ensuring they receive their care in a timely manner without unnecessary delays. We also expect flexibility to support the service as a whole to ensure all patients within the department are managed equitably.
