Job summary

Part of the recent £48 million investment as required by the Department of Health, will be used to fund a new and innovative Emergency floor, incorporating a reconfigured and augmented Emergency Department, with Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) facilities, Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), and Diagnostic services.

We are looking for a highly motivated doctor to join the senior middle grade rota covering 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The successful candidate will work clinically in all aspects of Emergency Medicine, including resuscitation.

The successful candidate will work clinically in all aspects of Emergency Medicine, including resuscitation. Shop floor support is undertaken by one or two consultants in the department during the day and overnight by a consultant on-call. The post holder will be required to take the role of the Emergency Physician In Charge at night. It will be expected that the post will support junior middle grades as well as FY2 doctors and GPVTS trainees. The department is actively involved in audit and the post holder will be expected to undertake such activities.
