We are recruiting for a Pre-operative Assessment Enhanced Clinical Practitioner who wishes to join our Pre-operative Assessment Unit at #TeamIOWNHS. This is an exciting time in the pre-operative assessment unit Isle of Wight, as we are undergoing a transformation in line with the elective surgical recovery program and are reviewing our services, expanding our team and exploring opportunities to enhance our clinical practice delivery.

Part time hours - Hours split to cover Monday Friday 08:00 18:00 service (excluding bank holidays).

Are you a Registered Nurse currently working within in the speciality of Preoperative Assessment looking for a new challenge? Are you an existing specialist nurse or Enhanced Clinical Practitioner with relevant experience looking for a new challenge in this enhanced clinical practice role? Main duties of the job

There has never been a more exciting time to use your existing History Taking and Physical Assessment skills, patient caseload management and leadership skills, as part of a team to advance this speciality service further within this autonomous role.

The role will include working with the current team to provide our patients with the highest quality clinical assessments to identify any clinical concerns that could increase the patients peri operative risk, ordering further investigations, interpreting results as per department Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines, making sound clinical decisions as to when to refer to an Anaesthetist, surgeon or GP for further review and condition management, and ensure the patient is prepared for, and fit, to safely proceed for their planned surgery and recovery.

We provide support to patients over 18 years of age in the specialities of: General surgery, Breast, Gynaecology, ENT, Maxillofacial, Urology, Orthopaedics and Ophthalmology procedures.
