Isle of Wight NHS Trust

Prosthetic Technician - Higher Level

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Prosthetic Technician to join the multidisciplinary team delivering prosthetic rehabilitation to patients on the Isle of Wight.

The role will require the successful candidate to work as an integral part of the Prosthetic team working closely with clinicians and other technicians to provide the best possible care to our patients. The post holder will also be expected to work in an extended role, holding their own clinics to deliver a repair and planned preventative maintenance service for prosthetic patients.

The Isle of Wight Orthotic and Prosthetic services are provided 'in-house' and within a single department, with many staff working across both disciplines. Our clients are a relatively small number of Island residents of all ages and levels of ability and thus the emphasis is on quality of care, where the need of the individual is always the primary consideration.

The Prosthetic service provides care for patients of all ages with a full multidisciplinary team including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, counselling, and medical input. The service has full manufacturing facilities on site.

As an experienced Prosthetic Technician, you will have the opportunity to develop the technical provision within our supportive and proactive team whilst also participating in the training and education of future technical and clinical staff.
