An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Midwife to join the Isle of Wight Maternity Services team to support the co-ordination of the clinical audit programme and Standard Operation Procedures within the department.

The role will also include clinical shifts as an integrated midwife.

The Audit and Guidelines Midwife will be responsible for ensuring the coordination of the clinical audit programme within the Maternity Services. The post holder will provide expert advice and promote clinical audit and quality improvement assurance projects relevant to Maternity Services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the coordination of evidence-based guidelines (including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Policies and Patient information). Working in close collaboration with the MDT and Wider Quality and Safety team in co production of relevant maternity documents within the Maternity and Neonatal services and Maternity Voices Partnership (MNVP)

The post holder will provide support with aspects of the quality governance agenda under the guidance of the Quality and Safety team lead.

Qualifications and role specific knowledge

Essential

  • Current RM registration with the NMC and any other relevant post registration qualifications
  • Full UK driving license
  • Certificate in mentorship/practice supervisor

Desirable

  • Level 3 safeguarding training, sound knowledge of child protection, domestic violence, substance misuse and women and birthing people with additional needs
  • Clinical audit/competence training

Physical Skills

  • Able to recognise own limitations to seek advice appropriately.

  • Well-developed IT skills.
