IW NHS Trust Ambulance Volunteer Lead

We are looking for an exceptional Leader who will oversee and manage ambulance volunteers. And will already have extensive experience of teaching and working with volunteers.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about being in a leadership role, that's all about nurturing a team to achieve.

Job Purpose

To lead on the development, promotion, organisation, delivery and management of robust Volunteer Service to the Trust, ensuring that volunteers are effectively recruited, trained and deployed in and efficient and cost-effective way

Ensure that volunteers are effectively recruited, trained to 100% compliance, and deployed effectively.

To act as the nominated line manager for all volunteers.

As required/deployed respond to appropriate calls under the scope of practice of a first responder.

Identify opportunities for voluntary services to add significant value in meeting Trust priorities. Working with Trust staff to translate the opportunities into successful outputs and outcomes.

To lead on partnership working to develop collaborative with external partners.

Job Statement

  • To manage the Ambulance Volunteer Service ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and efficient service.
  • To act as the nominated line manager for all volunteers registered with the Ambulance Service. In conjunction with the Ambulance Education, Training & Engagement Lead deal with concerns relating to the conduct, capability, or any other matter in accordance with the Volunteer agreement.
  • To ensure the timely, appropriate, and effective deployment of volunteers across the Ambulance Service.
  • To establish and maintain relationships with external organisations for the purposes of practical and financial support to Ambulance Volunteers.
  • To keep up to date with National Initiatives for Ambulance volunteers
  • With the input of Ambulance managers recognise deserving volunteers and put them forward for national and local awards.
  • To establish the requirements of the Ambulance Service for volunteers and work with requesting department managers to agree roles and responsibilities.
