The Pulmonary Rehabilitation service is looking for a dynamic and highly organised individual to fill this newly created role.
The post is a non-clinical administration role but one that will require an extensive amount of contact with patients over the phone. Therefore, applicants will be required to be clear communicators with problem solving skills.
In addition, skills such as empathy and persuasion are essential to achieve the overarching purpose of the role which is to encourage patients with breathing problems to take up the offer of pulmonary rehabilitation.

To play a key part in increasing the uptake of the pulmonary rehabilitation offer. This will involve receiving calls from patients who phone up to 'opt into' the service as well as proactively calling patients and encouraging them to take up the offer and guiding them to suitable alternatives where face to face PR classes are not possible. Skills of persuasion and empathy as well as an understanding of the service will be required.
To play a key part in increasing pulmonary rehabilitation completion rates. This will involve calling patients who have failed to attend and encouraging them to complete the course where possible.
To play a key part in reducing the referral to course start waiting time by optimising patient flow through the system.
To play a key part in achieving the team's goal of increasing access to pulmonary rehabilitation to patients who are considered as 'hard to reach' due to issues such as poverty, isolation, learning disabilities, mental health conditions.
Working closely with clinicians to ensure the smooth running of pulmonary rehabilitation service including booking pulmonary rehabilitation education sessions.
To be aware of and able to direct patients to suitable follow-on classes which are available in the community.
