12 months Fixed Term/Secondment opportunity available to cover Maternity Leave

This role will give you the opportunity to work with the teams to deliver a high standard of patient safety and experience, and gain a deeper understanding of our PSIRF process and complaints management. This will include insight and involvement in our clinical effectiveness processes and how the non-clinical team support the Trust to ensure our quality standards remain high with our patients at the centre of our service.

Job responsibilities

To lead the day-to-day running of the directorate quality agenda reporting to the Head of Nursing and Quality for the Clinical Business Unit (CBU).

Manage the Trusts objectives relating to quality, ensuring implementation of the integrated governance strategy, particularly relating to quality and clinical governance.

Manage the CBS's Serious Incidents (SIIR's) compliments, concerns and complaints, mortality and morbidity reviews, providing reports accordingly.

Ensure SIRI's, Complaints and Concerns are managed with required timeframes and lessons learnt are shared across the CBU.

To monitor the achievement of CQUINs and advise on actions to be taken to achieve these and of financial losses/gains accordingly.

Act as a resource to all staff across the CBU in relation to Quality and Clinical Governance.

To ensure continual improvement is achieved with regard to patient safety and quality, subsequently demonstrated through external review by the CQC and other bodies assessing performance.

To lead and roll out the health assure system across the directorate, ensuring all staff undertake the relevant training programme.

Support the business planning process within the CBU by supporting/developing plans for quality improvement, clinical audit and clinical effectiveness.

Provide oversight to the Head of Nursing and Quality of the compliments, concerns and complaints process within the directorate, ensuring timely and appropriate responses. Ensure lessons learnt are shared widely and where necessary action plans are put in place across the CBU to improve performance.

  • ECDL or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

  • Proven track record of successful management of complex projects.
  • Good working knowledge of contemporary health care issues and professional standards.
