We are looking for someone to work as an AHP Associate providing high quality care, to maintain the mobility and independence of the Isle of Wight population, with the support and supervision of the wider Outpatient Cluster team and Community Division.

Working as a member of the Community Outpatient Cluster an AHP Associate could look forwards to collaborating and developing skills alongside Podiatrists, Physiotherapists, Orthotists, Prosthetists, Technicians, an Occupational Therapist, a Nurse specialist and other non-registered professionals with a variety of clinical specialisms.

We aim to provide seamless patient pathway care which is joined up and meets individual patient needs, with clear communication and duplication prevention. Within the Podiatry setting, the successful candidate could look to providing foot health education and individualised care programmes as directed by the Podiatrist. Most commonly, care will be directed towards patients who suffer from metabolic, vascular or neurological disorders that place the lower limbs in a compromised situation. Other aspects of the role will include supporting clinic redresses, screening checks and nail surgery. Skills will be enhanced through a structured training and development plan.
Within the musculoskeletal pathway you will have the opportunity to support with exercise provision, adherence to programmes, working within and leading classes, in the provision of orthotic devices and monitoring patient journeys. The post holder will be enabled to work independently through a clear competency training programme such that they can safely and confidently work with the guidance of senior clinicians escalating care needs as indicated.
Specialist Pelvic and Obstetric Gynaecological Physiotherapists (POGP) work within this Cluster supporting pelvic health with opportunity for the AHP Associate to aid class delivery, belt provision, patient and public education and advice. There will be opportunity to develop skills in areas such as Pilates and Hypopressives and how best to support pregnancy and menopause related care.
The AHP Associate may support across Orthotics through the MSK and POGP pathways developing an understanding of how medical devices may facilitate mobility and quality of life. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work within the Amputee Rehabilitation Multi-disciplinary team supporting patients to regain their mobility, independence and quality of life. The Manufacture of medical devices is a large component of the orthotics and Prosthetics team with lots of exciting assessment and workshop equipment and opportunity to understand and support these processes with time. Here and across the cluster the use of technology grows including tech such as foot pressure in shoe devices.
You will be an effective part of the Outpatient Cluster, adhering to Service, Division and Trust procedures, policies, strategies, and objectives.
