Job summary

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to manage a team of postgraduate psychologists during the course of their clinical training. Working closely with the Director of Clinical Practice and a team of clinical and academic tutors and administrators, the Regional Trainees Manager will be responsible for the line-management of AfC Band 6 Trainee Clinical Psychologists (anticipated intake of 40 per year) employed by Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust during their registration on the 3-year DClinPsy programme provided by The University of Sheffield.

This is a new role in response to recent increases in training numbers, to ensure the effective delivery of employer responsibilities - particularly in respect of staff wellbeing and the provision of reasonable adjustments for those staff with identified support needs - and to provide effective line management of trainee psychologists during their training.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will act as the primary line manager (supported by the Director of Clinical Practice) for the trainees employed by Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust whilst enrolled on the DClinPsy programme at the University of Sheffield, with responsibilities for ensuring compliance with the Trust's corporate and governance requirements, including but not limited to the areas listed below:
