Job summary
Sheffield is delivering a new place-based community mental health service for adults and older adults with serious mental illness. In the Primary & Community Mental Health Service you will get to work as part of a We have primary care mental health multidisciplinary teams including; Clinical Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Clinical Associate Psychologists, Primary Care Mental Health Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health Pharmacists, Community Connectors, and Health Coaches. We are a partnership between Sheffield Health and Social Care, Primary Care Sheffield and NHS Sheffield CCG, and the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE).
We aim to provide personalised, trauma-informed care at a Primary Care Network level and are improving access to; evidence-based psychological interventions, valued activities in people's local communities, improved physical health care, and medicine management.

Main duties of the job
Clinical
To provide specialist psychological assessments, formulation and psychological treatment.
To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options.
To provide psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals
To undertake risk assessment and risk management.
To communicate information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment to service users and the MDT.
Teaching, Training and Supervision
To receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with professional practice (HCPC), BPS, and Trust guidelines
To provide supervision for Clinical Associate Psychologists (CAPS) trainee, and clinical psychologists, and other professionals
To contribute to the pre- and post-qualification teaching of clinical psychology.
Management, Recruitment, Policy, Organisational and Service Development
To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the team's clinical practice.
To contribute to the governance of psychological practice.
To be involved, as appropriate, in the shortlisting and interviewing of Clinical Associate Psychologists.
To manage the work of Clinical Associate Psychologists within the framework of the team/service's policies and procedures.
To manage waiting-lists within the team and participate as a senior clinician in the allocation of cases taking into account skill mix and caseload.
To implement the policies and propose changes to working practices/procedures concerning professional good practice in the PCMHT.
