Job summary

The Longley Centre is an acute inpatient ward, situated in the grounds of the northern general hospital in Sheffield.

The site service team are a diverse and motivated team, and we are looking to recruit a reliable and conscientious person to join the housekeeping team on the Longley centre site.

Are you well motivated and able to work flexibly? Do you have a desire to work within a mental health setting?

Duties will include providing a cleaning service to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Cleaning duties will be undertaken in line with work schedules. Previous experience of providing cleaning/catering services is essential.

The successful applicant will be expected to work on his or her own initiative as well as working as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

o Ensure the daily cleaning of toilets within service user and staff areas within theService.o Ensure the daily cleaning of clinic rooms and service user waiting areas.o Daily emptying of waste bins and disposal of rubbish from the allocated areas.o Regular clean all corridors, offices, rooms, and stairs as listed on the agreed workschedule.o Carry out duties following the required Trust Health & Safety Policies andCOSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.o Promptly report any faults, breakages and incidents relating to the work area.o Regularly complete and adhere to work schedules for the designated areas ofresponsibility, particular attention to standards of care given to the clinical areas.o Ensure the premises and work areas are secure before going off duty.o Attend training and retraining sessions regarding Health & Safety, COSHH orother statutory training in liaison with the Building Manager or her delegateddeputy.o Co-operate with the Admin/Buildings Manager and work as part of a team.Participate in team meetings and supervision when required.o In the event of absence of other housekeeping staff, due to annual leave, sickleave would need to be prepared to cover their priority areas, with particularregard to service user/public areas, toilets and bins.o Undertake any other duties as may be delegated by the Admin/Building Manager
