Job summary
The North Recovery Service provides support to adults living in the North of Sheffield who have complex or ongoing mental health needs. We provide health and social care support to help aid recovery, promote independence and improve both physical and mental wellbeing.
To provide and maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all areas at Northlands Community Health Centre and to undertake and complete relevant paperwork / electronic recording for water flushing, fridge temperatures, water temperatures, panic alarm testing and to follow cleaning schedules in accordance with the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness.
The successful applicant will be expected to work on their own initiative as well as working as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
- General cleaning of all corridors and areas within the site.
- Following work schedules, which includes opening and locking up of the building, emptying of bins, hovering of rooms and corridors, cleaning of toilets and clinical areas, cleaning carpets, washing of walls.
- Disposal of all rubbish following Trust policies and guidelines.
- Follow Trust Policies and guidance relevant to the role.
- Request cleaning materials and keeping adequate stock levels.
- To carry out duties having due regards for Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Regulations.
- To ensure products, equipment and materials are used appropriately and in the correct manner to ensure safe cleaning and the best results.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Essential
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety
- Excellent team working skills, flexible approach to work.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Previous knowledge or experience in housekeeping duties or similar work
- Ability to relate to colleagues, service users, visitors, members of the public
- Ability to complete relevant records
- Basic IT Skills
