Job summary

Here at Sheffield Health and Social Care (SHSC) we are looking to appoint a Programme Manager within the Programme Management Office (PMO) on a fixed term basis for 2 years to manage the implementation of the Clinical and Social Care strategy.

Accountable to the Programme Senior Responsible Owner, the postholder will work as part of a dynamic integrated leadership programme board and lead a multi-disciplinary programme team to implement the strategy and the associated workstreams, projects and change initiatives.

The strategy is focused on the high quality care we want to provide; care that is evidence led, trauma informed, strengths based and person centred. Each of the these form the basis of the programme workstreams. Working with the Workstream Leads, the post holder will ensure the programme is effectively planned, managed and implemented.

This is an exciting role, and it is the first time SHSC has had a Clinical and Social Care strategy. The reason why we have developed one now is simple, we want everything we do to be led by providing the best specialist care to all the people we work with. Main duties of the job

In particular the post holder will:

  • Provide programme and project management expertise to the workstream leads to support delivery
  • Draft high quality co-produced programme plans
  • Effectively manage issues and risks and where appropriate escalate to ensure proactive resolution
  • Contribute to the development of key performance indicators for the successful assessment of project and workstream success
  • Liaise with other Programme Managers across SHSC Transformation programmes of work to ensure clarity of care pathways, programme deliverables and dependencies.

Liaise with other strategic developments across the region to ensure good alignment/fit for the broader benefits of the people of Sheffield.

Programme and Project Management

  • Manage the definition and delivery of the Clinical and Social Care Strategy transformation programme using MSP principles
  • Provide project management expertise to the workstream leads promoting successful delivery
