Job summary

We have two brand new posts which offer an exciting opportunity to work as a specialist Structured Clinical Management (SCM) care coordinator within our Recovery Teams. The successful applicants will benefit from being part of a small, supportive SCM team but also being situated within the wider Recovery Teams with all of the MDT working and interest that comes with this. Following new investment these roles are part of us increasing our offer of Structured Clinical Management within both the North and South Recovery Teams.

These posts are open to mental health professionals (nurses, social workers or occupational therapists) who are passionate about offering high quality, evidence-based care to a small caseload of service users with complex emotional difficulties. You will also have the opportunity to facilitate our group work alongside peer recovery workers and therapy colleagues.

We are keen to hear from candidates with training in and experience of delivering SCM but this is not essential. What is essential is that you are passionate about and experienced in working with service users who experience emotional regulation difficulties and impulsivity and want to be part of providing high quality services.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will work with a small, capped caseload of service users participating in SCM but will also contribute to and be part of the wider Recovery MDT offering consultation, advice and support to our Recovery Team colleagues. We are looking for people who are compassionate and validating in their approach and are able to work thoughtfully and respectfully with service users, carers and colleagues.

We are excited about further developing our SCM offer and committed to supporting and investing in the staff team through psychologically minded supervision, training and team support.

Main Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • To work as an SCM care-co-ordinator
  • To work within the SCM treatment team to deliver high quality, evidence-based treatment
  • To work alongside colleagues to facilitate the SCM groups
  • To manage a small SCM caseload
  • To participate in regular SCM supervision
  • To offer supervision and SCM focussed consultation to other team members.
  • To contribute to positive multi-disciplinary service development.
  • To assist in collecting data for patient related outcome measures and facilitating service user involvement in the development of SCM

About us

Structured Clinical Management is an evidence-based treatment pathway for people with a diagnosis of personality disorder or who would identify with the difficulties associated with this diagnosis. We currently have a small team of care coordinators, peer recovery workers and therapists working to deliver SCM to our service users. The team is embedded within the wider Recovery Teams which are large MDT teams with a diverse case load. It feels exciting to be shaping something new, for our teams and for the people of Sheffield.

We are passionate about providing the very best care to the people we support, and we're looking for amazing people who share this passion to join us.

What is it that makes our Trust such a special place to work? Well, it's all about the people. Our staff, service users, carers and families all come from such diverse backgrounds and all have expertise and stories to share.

It's important that you feel supported in your role, that the people who you work with are as passionate as you are and that your health and wellbeing are taken care of.

If you're interested in developing your career, you'll have access to a range of training and education opportunities, including apprenticeships, work experience and placements, as well as the chance to get involved in research.

We are all very proud of the difference we make to people's lives each and every day and if that's something that you'd like to be part of we'd love to have you with us.
