Band 5 Physiotherapist - Community Learning Disability Team
Fixed Term Contract - 1 year
Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust (SHSC) Adult Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT ) are looking for a highly motivated ,experienced and dynamic Physiotherapist to work in this specialist field of Learning Disabilities. Due to monies released from the creation of another new post an opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 5 Physiotherapist ( 1 year Fixed Term post ) to join our Physiotherapy Team .
We work within an established multi -disciplinary Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) providing Physiotherapy to adults with a Learning Disability in Sheffield.
Experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities is desirable. You will have experience of working in a broad range of clinical settings and have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team. You must have experience and skills of working with people with complex health and physical health needs and other relevant experience e.g. Neuro Rehabilitation, Paediatrics, Mental Health, Care of the Elderly, Intermediate Care.
We are committed to supporting staff with their Continuous Professional Development and provide regular clinical and management supervision.
You will hold a recognized Physiotherapy Degree or equivalent, must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Main duties of the job
To assess, diagnose, plan and develop physiotherapy treatment programmes for adults with learning disabilities who present with a wide variety of physical and or mental health needs, seen within a community setting.
You will carry your own client caseload under supervision of a Band 7 Physiotherapist and will work closely with our generic Therapy Assistant.
