Job summary

Our ambition is to become a Gold Standard Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service, making a meaningful difference in reducing relapse rates, inpatient admissions, and supporting recovery through social inclusion and maximizing strengths and potential. We are seeking energetic, motivated, and skilled practitioners to help us achieve this vision.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for four Band 4 Assistant Practitioners to join our well-established and supportive multidisciplinary team. You will provide holistic care and support to adults experiencing their first episode of psychosis (FEP), contributing to their recovery and empowerment.

You will work alongside a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and specialists in employment and welfare rights. Together, we deliver collaborative health and social care focused on recovery and social inclusion.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for resilient, enthusiastic, and committed individuals who are passionate about helping others navigate their mental health, physical health, and social needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of person-centered care and treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Promoting social inclusion and helping individuals regain their social roles.
  • Conducting physical health and wellbeing screenings to support holistic care.
  • Facilitating group programs aimed at reducing isolation and fostering peer support.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • The ability to work autonomously while embracing the team's collaborative approach.
  • Strong risk assessment and safeguarding skills to ensure the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals.
  • A willingness to engage in training provided by the Trust's Learning & Development team to enhance your knowledge and skills.

  • Diploma in Mental Health Practice or NVQ level 3 in Mental Health with post qualification evidences of further study / additional training to diploma level or NVQ 4 in Mental Health or equivalent level experience or Evidence of extensive and current paid experience of working with service users who have severe and or enduring mental health or addiction issues.

Desirable

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (with a minimum of 5 A - E qualifications - which must include Maths and English) Level 1 Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults certificates Level 2 Safeguarding Children certificate

  • Significant experience of caring for people with mental health and substance misuse issues in an acute in-patient, community or SMS care setting and homeless setting
