Job summary
The post offered is that of a one year fixed-term Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry in the 154 Camden Road Community Rehabilitation Unit and Lime Tree Gardens Residential and Rehabilitation Service (5 PAs). These sessions are back fill for the existing Consultant Psychiatrist, who will be starting a secondment as the Research Lead for the partnership. Ideal start date would be asap, but this can be negotiated. AC Approval is essential.
The post is to provide consultant cover to two teams in the community - 154 Camden Road Community Rehabilitation Unit and Lime Tree Gardens, a rehabilitation and residential placement. Both units have well-established and experienced multi-disciplinary teams. Camden & Islington's rehabilitation services are well-respected and internationally renowned.
Main duties of the job
o To provide advice and support to nursing and support staff in the management of patients at 154 Camden Road and Lime tree Gardens.o To provide consultant input and clinical leadership to the 154 Camden Road and Lime Tree Gardens. To assist with diagnosis, formulation, medication reviews, management plans, risk assessments, crisis plans, and self-help plans as required for patients referred to the team.o To maintain effective communication with GPs, primary care staff, patients and their carers.o To work flexibly within timetabled working hours, so that urgent clinical matters can be prioritised.o To liaise and work closely with other C&I rehabilitation teams and attend a weekly referrals meeting with other senior rehabilitation clinicians.o To liaise and work closely with local voluntary services as part of the new model of core community teamso To participate in management activities and governance processes related to the Rehabilitation Services, including audits and quality improvement projects.o To play an integral role in the performance of the team, the further development of the service, and the development of clinical pathways and priorities of the service line.

Education/Qualifications/Registration
Essential
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice. Must be on the specialist register or within 6 months of gaining a Certificate of Completion of Training
- Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility) - qualifies to act as a Responsible Clinician
- Registered with Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD programme and in good standing
- Shared Services training up to date to be an approved trainer/clinical supervisor
Desirable
- Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry
- Other relevant post-graduate qualification (incl. those gained outside UK
- Trained as an Educational Supervisor for doctors in training
