Job summary

Here is an exciting opportunity to lead a unique and nationally recognised service that provides a trauma informed response to women in acute mental health crisis within a residential setting as an alternative to hospital. We are seeking a manager that understands and acknowledges the trauma women may have experienced and can deliver the service from this ethos.

We invite applications from those who have had experience in working therapeutically with women and have had relevant training and registration with a regulatory body or working towards this.

Management experience and a confident and compassionate approach to working with women who are a risk to themselves and skill at containing and leading a team is what is required of this role.

The role requires the ability to be flexible, multitask as well as reflect and hold complex discussions to ensure that work is carried out safely and effectively. This role requires close partnership working with the existing manager in a job-share capacity.

We are currently seeking women who may have used services in the past that contributes to their practice now. Due to the service needs we can only accept female applicants. Potential applicants can contact the service manager for further discussion about the post/ arrange an informal visit.

Main duties of the job

In this female only service, the post holder is responsible for ensuring that the team understands and operates to the requirements of the operational policy and service line strategy and that safe, trauma informed, evidence based, and effective interventions and services are delivered in a timely manner to women who use this service.

The post holder will make best use of the resources available to them in overseeing team and individual performance; ensuring that at all times best use is made of all the resources in the team, organisation, and wider community to enable the best outcomes possible.

The post holder will lead on governance and audit within the team, ensuring that service delivery is high quality and that dignity, privacy and respect is afforded at all times to women using the service.

Team members are to be supported and developed to their potential and that new team members are comprehensively inducted and successfully integrated into the team.

The post holder will oversee the provision of service to all women referred, assessed, and staying within the service delegating key aspects using their expertise and judgement of the team. They will ensure that plans of interventions will be trauma informed, safe and realistic within a crisis context, evidence based and within best practice guidance.

The post holder is also responsible for the safe and therapeutic upkeep of the building and all aspects of the service provision.

In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
