Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Traumatic Stress Clinic, a specialist service for the treatment of complex PTSD in Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. The role will include providing psychological assessment and trauma focused psychological treatment to people who have experienced multiple traumatic events and present with complex PTSD and related difficulties; supervision of psychologists, and offering consultation, training and advice to psychologists and other professionals across the boroughs. In particular we are looking at candidates with a special interest in working with refugees. The post is open to candidates wishing to work on a fulltime or part time basis.
Main duties of the job
-To provide specialist psychological assessment and evidence based trauma focused treatment of clients presenting with complex PTSD using EMDR, Trauma focused CBT and Narrative exposure therapy. In order to apply for this post you will need to be trained and experienced in at least one but ideally both of these modalities, as well as have experience of working cross culturally.
- In this role you will work with colleagues to assess and treat refugees from Afghanistan who have been housed in the borough of Islington. For this reason ability to speak Pashto or Dari would be very helpful.
-In this role, you will be offering specialist supervision and consultation to qualified psychologists and trainee psychologists and you will need to have experience in providing supervision in this area.

The Traumatic Stress Clinic is a well established specialist service with experience of working with refugees and asylum seekers, survivors of childhood and domestic abuse, trafficking victims, veterans, health and social care staff with work related PTSD and survivors of institutional abuse. We are a small and supportive team of psychologists. We are committed to delivering high quality and evidence based treatment to service users. In this role you will have access to specialist individual supervision as well as group supervision in EMDR and CFT and a reflective practice group. In addition you will have access to an excellent programme of CPD within the broader trust.
