Job summary

We are looking to employ an Advanced Lived Experience Practitioner to work within the Personality Disorder Service provided by Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust, and contribute at a senior level to the delivery of KUF training (the Knowledge and Understanding Framework).

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Lived Experience Practitioner will work with the KUF Hub to recruit and support local Personality Disorder Lived Experience Trainers and will co-deliver with these Trainers the KUF Training alongside Hub clinical staff.

The ALEP will provide a lived experience perspective within the (Intensive) Personality Disorder Service and will advise on the development of interventions for people with difficulties associated with personality traits and disorders within the new Trust Core Teams.

  • Post graduate level education
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Mental health/personality disorder training
  • KUF Coordination experience.

Experience

  • Of being a service-user or staff member of NHS mental health service
  • Experience of using your lived experience to deliver training and consultation to others working in this field.
  • Experience of working with a range of organisations to support service users to reach their personal goals .
  • Experience of relationship building and partnership working.

Desirable

  • Of working as an LXP within mental health services
  • Experience of delivering mentoring and/or supervision/appraisal .
  • Experience of delivering KUF Training within a healthcare setting .

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Expresses and articulates ideas in a manner that is appropriate, accurate and easily understood.
