APPRENTICE OPPORTUNITY ONLY
The post holder, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, will work as part of a team and will be responsible for providing operational level support to the Finance Department, ensuring robust financial management and budgetary control. The role includes key responsibilities in supporting the reporting of the Trust Income.

Main duties of the job
- To prepare and distribute monthly budget statements
- To identify and analyse variances and contribute to monthly narrative
- To ensure that the monthly budgets have captured all necessary income and costs via comprehensive cost analysis exercises and data collection processes
- To provide support to budget holders including preparing detailed financial information in a meaningful format for non-financial managers
- To ensure billing and coding processes and information are up to date
- To ensure that all reports are delivered in accordance with agreed timetables and quality standards.
- To ensure that precedent, defined procedures and policies guide the majority of the post holder's work. The post holder is expected to use, implement, and interpret these to achieve personal and corporate objectives agreed with the Senior Finance Manager.

Job responsibilities
- To accurately calculate and assess of accruals, prepayments and other relevant adjustments for the responsible area.
- To assist with recording, maintaining, and reporting of the Trusts non devolved income (totalling approximately £142m)
- To assist with monthly and quarterly billing for SLA contracts, and other income.
- To prepare and post journals for the relevant area, to support the monthly accounting process.
- To assist in the monthly reconciliation of the Income Master, accrual schedule, prepayment schedule and any other required.
- To support the budget setting process and the production of base budgets and budget reconciliations
- To calculate budget changes and maintain accurate establishment control information; ensuring that all budget movements and establishment control changes are appropriately recorded and authorised through the standard baseline reconciliation spread sheets, which are completed monthly.
- To assist on all costing work as appropriate.
- To support the closure and production of annual accounts as required
- To input into the credit control and agreement of balance exercises
- To liaise with the Financial Accounts team to ensure that balance sheet control accounts are accurate.
- To undertake other duties as required by the Finance and Business Analyst
- To assist with CIP identification
