Band 6 Clinical Specialist

Are you passionate about working with Older Adults experiencing a mental health crisis and/or those with a diagnosis of Dementia who may need more support?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust in our multidisciplinary Home Treatment Team (HTT) for Services for Ageing and Mental Health. The HTT works intensively with people with dementia and people with acute metal illnesses and age related frailty in their own homes. The service is looking for a Band 6 clinical specialist who is passionate about working with older people experiencing a mental health crisis and those who have dementia.

The service has an intense interface with psychiatric liaison services and inpatient services, providing gatekeeping assessments authorising admissions as well as facilitating early discharges; making this an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner who wants to work in a well-established team and influence how care is delivered for this client group.

The post holder will work as an independent practitioner but within a supportive team to deliver care that enables service users to remain in their own homes during a period of mental ill health. Training opportunities will also be provided to enhance your knowledge around dementia and age related frailty.

  • Demonstrating experience of 1 year r more working with Older Adults in the community or in-patient setting.
  • Demonstrating a good understanding of the the impact physical health issues can have on mental well being for Older Adults
  • Demonstrating a good understanding and experience in working with people living with dementia and their specific problems
