Staff Nurse Band 5 (Must have completed Preceptorship training)

A Permanent Post has recently become available for the role of a Registered Mental Health Staff Nurse at 154 Camden Road, a Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit.

154 Camden Road is a 15 bedded Rehabilitation unit located in London Borough of Camden. The unit is a NHS community provision for residents who have been discharge in the last 2 years from hospital, who require further treatment, to prepare them for discharge to Camden Supportive Housing pathways.

154 Camden road offers its residents:

  • Further optimizing medication regimes
  • Prompting for personal care; diet, shopping, laundry & personal care
  • Activity workers supports and offers residents participation with activity planner of groups
  • Reintegrate in to sports & exercise activities in the community
  • Reintroduce into education and training
  • Reintroduce into paid / unpaid employment
  • Address physical health concerns needs
  • Develop confidences taking part in groups both on and off the unit.
  • Building a supported and structured network for discharge

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the management of unit and deputise for the Unit Manager/ Charge Nurse. They will carry out allocated duties at the direction of the Unit Manager/ Charge Nurse and provide clinical supervision and support to an identified staff group. They will regularly take charge of the unit and manage the team in the absence of the Unit Manager/ Charge Nurse. The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary team framework in the delivery of care to patients within the intensive care setting.

The successful candidate will assist qualified staff to administer high quality patient care. They will support the work of the named primary nurse and, under their guidance, fully participate in the care and therapy offered on the ward and the promotion of person centred care.

The appointed applicant must have completed their preceptorship training at the point taking up the post as the unit. 154 Camden Road operates with 1 Registered Nurse per shift the unit is unable to support nurses requiring preceptorship.
