Job summary

Camden Alcohol Assertive Outreach Team

We are looking to recruit one experienced and enthusiastic specialist alcohol nurse to join the Camden Assertive Outreach Team within the Integrated Camden Alcohol Service. The service is based at 7-8 Early Mews, Camden, NW1 7HG and is made up as a partnership between Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust and CGL. The main focus of the work will be to work with a small caseload of clients with complex needs and deliver high quality alcohol interventions in their home or community settings, for those who frequently attend hospitals.

Main duties of the job

The position requires someone who has in-depth knowledge of working with service users with alcohol dependence, mental health and complex needs. The role will be to provide safe, effective and evidence based care and intervention for service users to support them to achieve and sustain long-term recovery. You will need to demonstrate an excellent level of clinical skill in order to work in delivering specialist interventions and health promotion to service users. You will work closely with alcohol liaison teams at the Royal Free and University College Hospital as well as supporting GP practices in the community. You will work closely with a number of other providers in joint care planning.

The service is looking to recruit nurses who are empathic and persistent and with an understanding of working with treatment persistent drinkers.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Mental health Nurse
  • Current Level 1 Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults certificates

Desirable

  • CBT qualification or other relevant qualification i.e. solution focused therapy, cognitive stimulation therapy, Mentalisation Based Therapy etc
  • Current Level 2 Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults certificates

Experience

Essential

  • Significant clinical experience in alcohol misuse service delivery
  • To demonstrate a sound knowledge base in the provision of alcohol misuse services and preferred treatment methods

Desirable

  • Experience of delivering specialist alcohol interventions in Acute hospitals and Primary Care settings
