Main duties of the job
To provide an effective and efficient cleaning service in line with NHS National Standards Cleanliness 2021.To provide an effective and efficient food and beverage service in line with Food Safety and Hygiene legislation and Improving the Patient Experience (ItPE) protocols.To provide general cleaning within all in-patient areas with inclusion of wards, communal areas, offices, departments, non-clinical areasTo follow National Colour Coding in line with infection prevention and control guidance.To ensure safe use and storage of materials to meet health and safety regulations and adhere to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.To adhere to safe working practices as outlined in Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) procedures.To assist with the removal of bodily fluids and clean-up process as and when required in accordance with Infection Prevention guidelinesTo work to a cleaning schedule, completing all allocated cleaning tasks e.g. damp dusting high- and low-level surfaces. Tasks to be performed in all areas of the ward.Monitor linen stock and order, as necessary. To transport bagged used linen to designated compound.To report building / equipment maintenance and repairs to the Facilities Service Desk or line manager.This job description is not meant to be exhaustive.
