Job summary

Are you passionate about optimising space and driving smarter, more efficient use of estates? We're looking for a proactive and analytical Space Utilisation Officer to join our team and support the delivery of our Smarter Spaces Programme.

About the Role

As a Space Utilisation Officer, you will play a vital role in managing and coordinating the use of both internal and external sessional and bookable spaces across the Trust. You'll be responsible for maintaining and analysing data from our room booking system and sensor technology, ensuring that space is used efficiently and in alignment with our Estates Strategy.

You'll act as a key gatekeeper, ensuring Trust-owned spaces are prioritised before external options are considered--helping to drive significant cost savings and operational efficiency.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage and maintain the Trust's room booking system and associated databases.
  • Gather and analyse data from booking systems and sensor technology to assess actual space utilisation.
  • Produce detailed reports and insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Support the delivery of designated projects under the guidance of the Smarter Spaces Programme Manager.
  • Coordinate internal and external specialist resources as required.
  • Communicate complex and potentially contentious space-related issues to stakeholders, using persuasive and negotiation skills to influence outcomes.
  • Implement and uphold standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and effective space management.
