Job summary

An Opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Manager in Older Peoples Mental Health Services at BDCT. This is a permanent position and will work across the Dementia pathway for the inpatient ward and Community Services including the Memory Assessment Service, Care Home Liaison, and the Outreach Team. The post will also support the acute pathway for the Older Peoples Service, working with the Clinical Manager responsible for the acute ward for OPMH and holding responsibility for the OPMH Community teams

Parts of the service are currently developing and there are a number of key service developments that the post holder will lead on or provide support to. In addition to ensuring that KPIs, Safer Staffing and Governance Structures are adhered to and service users and their wider carer network are at the centre of service delivery and Service Users receive safe effective care in the appropriate setting .

The successful candidate will embed a culture of least restrictive practice across the Service and support the planning of discharge from admission from the two inpatient wards. Supporting patients to be discharged to the most appropriate place with the minimal amount of delays.

Main duties of the job

Key, positive relationships will be developed and maintained with other support services within the Trust such as other Clinical Service areas, HR, Finance, Estates, IPC and Safeguarding as well as external partners including the Voluntary Sector, Local Authority, Social Care and Commissioning bodies.

The post holder will be supported by a small but experienced leadership team consisting of the Service Manager, Lead Allied Health, Consultant Psychologist and the Nurse Consultant/Dementia Lead. As well as the team of Consultant Psychiatrists.
