Job summary
Employed as a Joiner your duties will include assisting the Team, in the maintenance of the building stock within the Trust. You will ensure that all building work carried out meets the standards required by the Trust, legislation and customer expectation. All work must be carried out with full consideration for patient and staff requirements within a sensitive and caring healthcare environment.

Main duties of the job
o Carry out both new work and maintenance of the Trusts building stocko Internal and external woodwork repairs and renewals to the building fabric, fixtures, and fittings.o Fitting of proprietary units i.e. shelving, kitchen furniture, cupboards etc.o The repair of all fixtures and fittings including locks and all builders' ironmongery, door furniture, etc. including diagnosis of the cause of failure.o Furniture repairs.o PPM Works such as Fire Door Inspectionso All types of alteration work, e.g. construction of stud partition walls, fitting door frames, hanging doors etc.o Identify hazards and ensure that all relevant Health and Safety procedures are adhered to at all timeso Be fully competent in the use of hand tools, power tools and equipment to carry out routine building maintenance worko Ensure correct assessment of situations is carried out i.e. identifying hazards such as asbestos, and follow correct reporting procedure to escalate the issueo Ensure that correct access and safety equipment is used at all timeso Ensure the correct use and application of medium breaking equipmento Ensure the safe handling of heavy loads and building materialso Be fully aware of all COSHH requirements with regards to the hazardous materials used e.g. cement etc.
