Job summary

The Trust is looking for a highly performing and autonomous individual, part of the Office of the CIO senior Team, developing and delivering a robust, secure, effective and responsive ICT infrastructure; achieving both high quality and value in services provisioned which directly or indirectly support the delivery of patient care, in line with the Digital Strategy.

You will lead on the technical sections of the Digital Strategy, by managing the efficient and effective delivery of modern technical functions, including 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support, ICT projects and modernisation of the infrastructure in place, and resources to ensure they deliver to the Trust's strategic, tactical and operational objectives.

You will need to ensure a customer success approach, in designing and managing ICT services delivery, is in place to enable the Trust to deliver performance and quality improvement through the effective and safe use of information & communication technologies, managing budget and workforce accordingly.

Main duties of the job

  • Liaise with a wide range of teams and directorates to develop and promote infrastructure and networking services, providing expert advice to the Care Group Clinical and Operational Leads while ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place and are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Be responsible for the management and performance of the Information Technology Systems at the Enterprise level to ensues that are, and continue to be aligned to ITIL based service management practices and produce service specific key performance Indicators and Service specific business continuity plans.
  • Be responsible for the management and performance of the Technical Teams, ensuring a focus remains on continuous service improvement, adopting best industry practices and guidelines (both external and internal).
  • Support the Head of Service, CIO, CCIO and other senior colleagues within the Digital Services Department in developing and implementing strategic plans, ensuring that technical services are fully integrated with the needs of the clinical and corporate services.
  • Closely work with other Senior Managers to deliver Digital Services technical services to a high standard to colleagues and to other parts of the organisation and to work in collaboration with other external partners.
  • Engage with external suppliers for procurement and contractual matters and to make best use of new and emerging technologies that would effectively benefit the Trust in implementing.
