Job summary

An exciting Kitchen Supervisor position has arisen for a dynamic talented individual seeking promotion within Estates and Facilities. The role is ideal for a motivated, hardworking, and committed team member to provide coordinated hands on leadership and supervision to the Food Services team at our two inpatient sites.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising a large team and benefit from joining a proactive friendly management team, the main purpose of the role is to:

  • Supervise and direct the work of the kitchen brigade to ensure all meals are produced in a safe and timely manner to the required standards meeting all Food Hygiene regulations
  • Prepare and monitor daily production planning schedules and team briefs to meet all requirements and maximise efficient use of resources.
  • Plan and prepare daily restaurant menus which reflect the flair and skills of the brigade while meeting customer choice requirements.
  • Plan and develop Service User menus including for themed days, special diets and special requests etc.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills; the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of staff groups and services is essential to succeed in this role.

A valid UK driving licence plus the use of own transport for business purposes is not essential but would be a benefit

Main duties of the job

Ensuring the efficient use of resources in the production of hygienic, safe, high quality meals produced in a safe and hygienic manner for patients and staff while providing technical leadership to the kitchen brigade.
