Perinatal Mental Health Team Psychological Therapist, Band 7 - Parent-Infant Psychological Therapist.
Bradford District Care Foundation NHS Trust are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to be part of their perinatal mental health team, the Specialist Mother and Baby Mental Health service.
Perinatal Mental Health Teams are secondary care mental health teams that specialise in supporting women in the perinatal period who have severe and complex mental health difficulties. We assess and treat a range of difficulties including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis, personality disorders and eating disorders.
We are a multi-disciplinary team including psychiatry, psychological therapists, nursing, occupational therapy, and nursery nursing. The service works closely with maternity/obstetric services as well as other agencies (e.g., midwifery, health visiting and social services). We also have close links with the Mother-Baby Unit (MBU) inpatient units.

Main duties of the job
The service has a growing team of perinatal psychological therapists who are committed to providing evidence-based interventions to mothers, infants and their families that are accessible and acceptable to the diverse population that we serve in Bradford, Airedale and Craven area. Although service supports professional development you must be passionate about parent-infant relationships.
The post advertised is to work across Bradford, Airedale and Craven providing therapy in mothers' homes as well as clinic spaces. The postholder will be dedicated to ensure access to therapy is improved and therefore will be willing to work flexibly.
This position is open to applicants who are qualified, accredited therapists-please see person specification. Candidates must have proven experience of assessment and therapeutic skills in a mental health setting and ideally experience of providing parent-infant therapeutic interventions or a willingness to do further training in this area. The position is part of a multidisciplinary team in Adult Mental Health provision.

- Essential criteria Doctorate level training in clinical or applied psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS, or a BPS Statement of Equivalence. AND Experienced of providing dyadic therapy with parents and infants. OR Specialist post graduate training to masters level or equivalent in a psychotherapeutic modality AND Experienced of providing dyadic therapy with parents and infants AND Accreditation from a recognised Psychological Therapy body e.g. BABCP, BACP, UKCP via: (a) Professional route; requiring previous mental health qualification e.g. Clin.
