Job summary
We are seeking an experienced neuropsychologist or clinical psychologist to join our team as the clinical lead for our neuropsychological pathway in community mental health services. The successful post holder will be responsible for leading on the delivery, training and supervision of people with psychosis receiving cognitive remediation therapy as well as neuropsychological assessments of adults in community mental health services. The post holder will be based in the Aire and Wharfe Team, delivering a day a week of clinical input into the local team, as well as two days a week pathway leadership across CMHTs and Early Intervention for Psychosis teams. We are seeking someone who is passionate about mental health and neuropsychology within the context of wider health inequalities and working as an MDT to deliver holistic care. Due to the large geographical area, travel is a part of the role. Training and development is available with generous in house and external offers available as well as flexible working patterns.
Main duties of the job

- To act independently/use initiative within appropriate operational guidelines and service protocols; deciding where necessary to refer to the Clinical Lead and/or Head of Psychological Therapies.
- Provide specialist evidence based psychological therapy, making autonomous clinical decisions.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, consultation and advice on psychological therapies and neuropsychological assessment.
- Provide clinical leadership, service/policy development, specialist teaching and advice around neuropsychological treatment and care.
- Support adherence to relevant NICE guidance and clinical governance arrangements.
- Ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area.
- Work with the Clinical Lead and/or Head of Psychological Therapies on service development, leading research and development activities.
