SOCIAL WORK APPRENTICESHIP

- BDCFT is pleased to announce that we will be running the Social Work Apprenticeship Programme. We are supporting up to 5 practitioners to join the Social Work Apprenticeships degree course in 2023. There are 3 posts based in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team and 2 posts in the Community Mental Health Team.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
You must have GCSE Grade C (or above) in Maths & English - or an equivalent qualification. You will need to provide certificates during the application process.
The interview process will be conducted jointly with Sheffield Hallam University and BDCFT

Depending upon the number of applicants we may need to invite you to an assessment day which will take place on the 7th December.
Interviews will take place on 15th and 16th December 2022.
Main duties of the job
This programme is delivered via an accredited academic programme provider and Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust (BDCFT).
The post holder will have an apprenticeship agreement approved by both BDCFT and the chosen academic provider. The apprentice will work towards progression into the post of Registered Social Worker through successful completion of the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship programme.
The degree apprenticeship programme combines and integrates both academic and work- based learning through close collaboration between employers and the education providers. The apprentice will be based as an employee within Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust. They will experience working in alternative settings which will include an Adult placement in the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and a Child and Family placement in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in order to fulfil all the requirements of the programme to meet the requirements for entry onto the Social Work England professional register as a Registered Social Worker.
The Social Work Apprentice is supported by an academic mentor and Practice Educator when on placement. At the end of the programme the apprentice will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Registered Social Worker and will work to the nationally recognised British Association of Social Work (BASW) Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF).
