Job summary

This is a wonderful opportunity for a qualified Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, to join our friendly ,innovative and supportive paediatric team in Bradford, a vibrant multi-cultural city. We would also welcome applications from Speech and Language Therapists who would like to work virtually for our Team.

The successful applicant will work with the paediatric population, working across a variety of locations, including community clinics, nurseries and schools and also within our commissioned school settings. You will join a team of dedicated Speech and Language Therapists and Clinical Support Workers who are passionate about meeting the needs of our population.

The Speech and Language Therapy service provides a supportive network of generalist, specialist and highly specialist therapists working in a wide range of clinical areas, and there are excellent opportunities for continuous professional development and clinical supervision

Main duties of the job

To work effectively as part of an established paediatric Speech andLanguage Therapy team to provide assessment, therapy, advice andsupport to children and young people aged 0 - 18 who have specificneeds in relation to their communication.

To manage a caseload of complex cases including; individuals whopresent with speech and language disorders, social communicationdisorders and complex cases of paediatric communication difficulties.

To assess, diagnose and manage the communication needs of children and young people aged 0 -18. To hold a specialist caseload which will also include some highly specialist complex cases.

To participate in complex assessment and management of cases under thesupervision of the Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.

To develop and produce appropriate materials in order to promote access to effective therapy e.g. leaflets/bilingual resources.

To work in partnership, to empower the most significant people involved to deliver intervention plans, negotiating and agreeing realistic goals and adapting plans to meet individual needs and preferences. This includes training and supporting others to deliver the intervention programme.

  • RCSLT Registration
