This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic person to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the design and development of capital and revenue projects.

The role will be to provide day-to-day support within capital projects team in carrying out detailed surveys, preparing drawings and specifications, delivering minor projects from brief stage, monitoring on-site delivery of projects from inception through to completion; all to time cost and quality. Experience in leading refurbishment projects, together with construction knowledge and procurement processes will be required, whilst great communication skills, both written and verbal, will be essential to engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of staff throughout the Trust, and interface with external contractors and professional consultants on a daily basis in a professional manner.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the design and development of capital and revenue projects as required by the Foundation Trust to fulfil duties as expected of a Project & Property Support Officer.

The role will be to provide day-to-day support to the capital projects team in carrying out detailed surveys, preparing drawings and specifications, delivering minor projects from brief stage, monitoring on-site delivery of projects from inception through to completion; all to time cost and quality.

Other duties will include supporting the Property Officer in the management of the Trusts Property Portfolio regarding the acquisition and disposal of property, calculations for rents and service charges, property appraisals and other related issues, for both freehold and leasehold sites.

The post holder must liaise with all levels of staff throughout the Foundation Trust, and interface with external contractors and professional consultants on a daily basis in a professional manner.

A flexible approach is required and the postholder will be required to travel between any Foundation Trust premises or undertake any other journey as and when required to fulfil this role.

Job responsibilities

Manage and implement projects assigned to you from inception tocompletion, being responsible for on-site delivery, pre-construction health and safety plans, and programmes of work.

Interpret and develop project briefs, solve problems and provide sound advice to clients regarding requests for minor projects.

Be familiar with AutoCAD design packages & the MICAD buildingdatabase with the ability to understand and produce basic drawings and specifications of work and updating of records within those systems

An awareness and understanding of how to interpret national standards of Building Design, legislation, codes of practice and NHS HBN/HTM guidance

Work within the constraints of the adopted Project Management Quality Manual (standard forms) and ensure all forms are completed ensuring good project manage & governance

Be responsible for obtaining quotations for projects assigned to you, using approved tender processes to ensure value for money.

Place orders for works using Trust recognised systems keepingcomprehensive records of spend to ensure projects remain in budget.

Attend project and site meetings and monitor performance of contractors with respect to time cost and quality and produce and distribute minutes.

Assist in the production of presentations and reports as required by senior management

Support the analysing and interpreting of data for use in projectdocuments, reports and statistical information to the Trust Directorate, Regional and National bodies in timely accurate and meaningful format i.e., ERIC, including administrative support of ERIC, and any other mandatory returns

Propose changes to own area, informing policy and makingrecommendations for projects delivery & introduce new systems andprocedures where appropriate/identified.

Maintain and develop detailed knowledge of special technicalrequirements of hospital buildings with respect to current design guidelines and technical literature.

Contribute to developing an inclusive working environment and culture which actively improves the health, safety, welfare, and security of our Service Users, staff, and visitors.

Excellent time management skills with ability to re-prioritise, manageworkload to deadlines and respond to sudden unexpected demands.
