Job summary
BDCFT is looking for two enthusiastic Band 6 Mental Health professionals to be an active part of a team of trained and competent professionals in the Mental Health Criminal Justice Team, who deliver a timely and compassionate assessment which effectively sign posts service users with mental health issues identified within the Criminal Justice System.
This role will be to provide a service in partnership with the Liaison & Diversion team, with key aims of providing concise Court Reports jointly with other agencies such as Probation, Court Systems and Legal Representatives and to compassionately signpost service users into appropriate care and support
The successful applicants will need to be a motivated practitioner, able to work independently, but have the ability to work alongside other agencies whilst respecting their views and methods and simultaneously promoting Mental Health and collaborative working. In addition, close relationships and partnership working will be essential with other key stake holders such as the Voluntary Care Sector, Local Authority, Court Services, Probation and above all the service users and their families.
Other key areas of work that the applicant will need to focus on are, trauma informed care, ensuring older adults receive an equitable service, creating safe and inclusive pathways for all service user, a focus on the increased risks for Perinatal service users and linking in to key services to counter the impact of social deprivation.
Main duties of the job
- Job Purpose:
You will be employed by Bradford District Care Foundation Trust (BDCFT) working within the existing Liaison and Diversion Team in Bradford through partnership working agreement
To complete Mental Health assessments / screening during in partnership with the Criminal Justice System and other agencies to determine the level of risk to people with mental health issues.
To work in support of other allied health care professionals in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of care and treatment.
The post holder will work within office hours, in partnership with agencies of the Criminal Justice System, including Probation, Crown Prosecution Service, defence solicitors, barristers, Clerks of Court, Magistrates, Crown Court, and prison services.
To deliver a high standard and quality service which enables patients to be supported throughout their care pathway whilst promoting independence and protecting choice, dignity, privacy and safety.
To always communicate effectively with other services of the Care Trust, other health care professionals and with the patient family, carers/ visitors to ensure holistic care is delivered.
Support the Team Manager in the management of staff, meeting quality standards, implementing policy, managing change and delivering innovation.
