We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and passionate nurse or midwife to join the team to provide Safeguarding and Clinical leadership to Just One Number, the Single Point of Access. The post holder will ensure the delivery of a high quality, efficient and effective service, meeting all objectives and key performance indicators.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will liaise closely with clinical leads and the safeguarding team to ensure robust processes are in place to support a streamlined service to the children, young people, and families in Norfolk and support the ongoing delivery of the Mental Health Advice, Support and Access Team and any future developments of the Just One Number offer.

1. To be an integral part of the Just One Number leadership team and the N&W safeguarding team, working alongside other leadership colleagues to promote a high quality, efficient and effective service which is grounded in safety and risk management.2. In conjunction with the leadership team develop and maintain pathways, procedures and protocols regarding care coordination within Just One Number and the clinical and non-clinical triage of calls, emails, and other contacts.3. To assist the Named Professional and Clinical Lead in developing and implementing training programmes and to participate in learning needs analysis as required.4. To provide support and leadership within and across Cambridgeshire Community Services on all matters relating to safeguarding children and adults at risk.5. To provide clinical leadership and professional support to staff and team members.6. To work with Trust staff to promote best practice, to identify risk factors and to initiate appropriate action to safeguard children and young people at risk of or suffering from physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect.7. To provide safeguarding supervision and specialist clinical advice to named practitioners in a variety of methods, including on a one-to-one or group basis as well as support the Norfolk Safeguarding Duty Phone, required by national and local organisational arrangements.8. Implement and operationalise the vision for future innovation and growth of the single point of access in conjunction with the team, leadership team, stakeholders, service users and the wider service.9. In conjunction with the leadership team, clinical colleagues and other stakeholders implement new ways of working at a team level, taking appropriate advice from corporate colleagues. This might include skill-mix reviews and other staffing strategies.10. To assist with development of relevant policy documents, Standard Operating Procedures, Single Point of Access Process that guide practice.11. To assist the Named Professional and Clinical Lead in the audit programme and support staff where necessary in undertaking these.12. To support staff in planning and delivery of safeguarding supervision sessions i.e. to encourage professional curiosity, to support professional articulation of and identification of child protection concerns, assessment of risk, care planning, delivery and evaluation.13. Identify and address performance management issues in relation to practice and escalate issues to the appropriate line manager.14. Support Trust staff in their responsibilities with regard to safeguarding documentation and record keeping. i.e., referrals to childrens services (CADS), report writing etc. seeking additional specialist advice when required.15. Ensure appropriate action is taken when clinical risks are identified by self or a team member and that the escalation process is followed appropriately.16. To support the Named Professional in preparation for and contribute to, Serious Practice Reviews and other reports as required17. To ensure that recommendations and action plans from Serious Practice Reviews are implemented appropriately and that any learning from these are incorporated into training and disseminated across the Trust.18. To support staff dealing with the emotional trauma of a child death, or injury through a serious incident situation and accessing emotional support for self when dealing with safeguarding issues.19. To attend all leadership meetings and cascade information to teams.20. To ensure Just One Number remains a positive learning environment for pre and post registration students.

1. To support staff with the communication of complex and sensitive information effectively with children, young people, their parents/ carers, adults at risk and other service users. 2. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders and partners both internally and externally.3. Act as a point of escalation for complex queries or complaints from service users4. Influence decisions regarding service delivery through leading meetings.5. The post-holder will use well developed change management, communication and resilience skills to effect change within the team, understanding the complexities of change whilst also being able to deliver change.6. Use sophisticated communication skills to impart difficult or unwelcome news primarily to staff for example, disciplinary, performance and grievance matters.7. To develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinical colleagues, within the service, division and the Trust.8. Research & Development Activity
1. Support the locality team in facilitating a research and development culture that enables staff to take a critical and innovative approach to practice. Required to undertake regular R&D activity as appropriate.2. Evaluate the care given in order to assess the quality of the provision through the implementation of audit.3. As agreed with the Head of Locality/ Clinical Lead regularly engage in clinical audit to inform service performance as well as support service improvement
Clinical and Practice Governance
1. Observe and maintain strict confidentiality with regards to any patient/family/staff/records and information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.2. Any data that is taken/shared as part of a phone call or transported, faxed or transferred electronically must be undertaken with regard to the Trust Information Governance and Information Security policies. 3.
