Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team within iCaSH Norwich working in a substantive 10.5 hours and fixed term 18.75 hours post (one post). You will be working within our multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, enjoys providing excellent care and ensure patients are always put first. We want someone who wants to learn and develop.

Good time management skills and the ability to thrive in a busy environment are key. Excellent written & verbal communication abilities are a must. You will also maintain privacy, confidentiality, dignity, and ensure the patient is well looked after.

The post holder will support the delivery of healthcare for patients attending the integrated contraception and sexual health (iCaSH) service which is part of Cambridgeshire Community Services (CCS). This may include the supporting of patients who present with sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, contraception requirements and/or any other sexual health related problems.

Working Pattern: 29.25 hours to be worked over 08.30-18.15 Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 08.30-19.30 Tuesday and Thursday and 08.45-12.30 Saturdays on rotation. Hours to be discussed at interview

Main duties of the job

To welcome patients and obtain relevant personal and clinical details as appropriate treating all such information as confidential.

Following training, and once signed off as competent, to act as a chaperone and assist nurses/doctors to undertake intimate examinations/procedures on patients.

To provide information to patients as appropriate who attend the department and to those who are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection/HIV or require contraception advice, risk reduction advice and condom demonstration.

Provide a phlebotomy service for patients attending the services.To support health promotion events when requested.

To be non-judgemental to all client groups regardless of age/ethnicity/religion.

To undertake non-clinical duties in support of the admin team, for example undertake call taking and reception cover, registering patients and booking, support data collection and or general patient and non-patient administration.

Hold the Care Certificate and deliver the associated standards of care or undertake the training at the earliest opportunity upon recruitment to post.
