Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for motivated, well organised and enthusiastic individuals to join our falls team as Community Falls Support worker. You will be based in Luton as part of a small proactive team but will be able to work autonomously using your own initiative, have good communication skills and be IT literate. In exchange we can offer the successful applicants a variety of interesting work in a friendly and supportive team. Full support and training will be provided and the Trust is committed to staff development.
The team works with people who have fallen or are at risk of falling in their own homes and aims to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and reduce the risk of falls. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding and innovative team in a large scale organisation, and make a difference to people affected by falls and fear of falling. If you have these skills and the motivation to make an impact we want to hear from you. Further details of the role can be found in the job description and personal statement.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel effectively and independently on a daily basis to and from the base, clients' homes and other venues around the geographical area whilst transporting equipment. If necessary, adjustments can be considered, in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act.
Main duties of the job
- Do you want to make a difference to someone's ability to remain safe and independent in their own homes?
- Are you educated to NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent and have experience of working in the community as a health care assistant, reablement support worker or in an occupational therapy or physiotherapy setting?
- Would you enjoy the opportunity to work across the Luton community providing a rapid intervention service for people who have fallen or at risk of falls?
- The service works shifts from 8pm until 6pm, 7 days per week with weekend work on a rota basis. The applicant would be expected to work shifts. A typical shift pattern for a full time member of staff may include 4 working days over a 7-day period with 3 rest days.
